Formal complaint filed; copy of lease

A formal complaint has been filed with the Indiana Public Access Counselor. At this point, I can’t say anything more, but rest assured there’s more to come on this subject.

On a side note, here’s a copy of a lease agreement I received this morning. I’ve not modified it in any way, except to convert it to a PDF file (I received it via facsimile).

Thank you Kelsey!! As if it is anyone's business, but you did very well in "covering" all avenues that would have become "hot topic" for the RUMOR mongers, most likely Butch lovers and Danny haters. You are doing the right thing by transferring, E-ville IS a long trip especially if you are not living there. This will give you some good quality time with your mom also and help all involved at the same time. Good luck and Congratulations in furthering your education!!

There you have it folk's. You have your answer for this latest, "got your pantie's in a wad" issue. What next, "Dan's shoe's didn't match his coat?" You people are really reaching. Guess you don't realize this just show's those of us with live's, that you troublemaker's were all born asshole's and just grew bigger. Have a nice day! =)

Just for the record, and so people will shut up about this whole thing.... I am going to school....I transferred to Ivy Tech just for this sememster because I didn't want to drive 4 hours a day to Evansville. And i think Jeremy can back me up on this because i saw him the day i registered for classes and i said hi:)....I'm moving to Indianapolis at the end of the summer to live with my mom and to attend IUPUI...for nursing, if that matters...And no I'm not moving to my moms because i hate my dad, just wanted to clear that up because i'm sure that would have been the next rumor. I love my dad and i love living with him, but I need to get my education, and living with my mom will save my dad some money, since he is paying for all of my college....Now i hope that will clear some things up... have a wonderful day :) Kelsey

Come to think of it I don't think Kelsey is returning to school well she is but I believe she is now going to go to Ivy Tech since it's closer to home I seem to think I was told that. And yes Danny and Issac believe were at the game together I honestly never saw Kelsey with them and I didn't see Krystal at all so that seems out of the question to me. Oh, and I'm not sure if shes getting paid but I do agree with the above post and wouldn't promoting Lobosky as Assistant Chief be a conflict too?

Who cares and why??

Exactly, what does it matter!! Butch hired Diane Dunn, now Cooper to be his secretary when he was newly elected and she went to church with him, so what is the big deal???

First off, Krystal was NOT at the game Friday night with Kelsey AND Dan. Krystal WAS at the game with Kelsey.

"From what I get from this, there shouldn't be a problem because Kelsey isn't actually employed by the city. Nor is she receiving a paycheck from the city for her service's." How can you be sure? -- Webmaster, Mitchell News

Peed-off
Peed-off

From what I get from this, there shouldn't be a problem because Kelsey isn't actually employed by the city. Nor is she receiving a paycheck from the city for her service's. So this just might make this latest complaint against Dan, null and void. =) Types of conflicts of interests The following are the most common forms of conflicts of interest: Self-dealing, in which public and private interests collide, for example issues involving privately held business interests. Outside employment, in which the interests of one job contradict another, Family interests, in which a spouse, child, or other close relative is employed (or applies for employment) or where goods or services are purchased from such a relative or a firm controlled by a relative. For this reason, many employment applications ask if one is related to a current employee. If this is the case, the relative could then recuse from any hiring decisions. Gifts from friends who also do business with the person receiving the gifts. (Such gifts may include non-tangible things of value such as transportation and lodging.) Pump and dump, A stock broker (from a boiler room down the street to a big broker uptown) which owns a security artificially inflates the price by "upgrading" it or spreading rumors, sells the security and adds short position, then "downgrade" the security or spread negative rumors to push the price down. Other improper acts that are sometimes classified as conflicts of interest are probably better classified elsewise. Accepting bribes can be classified as corruption; almost everyone in a position of authority, particularly public authority, has the potential for such wrongdoing. Similarly, use of government or corporate property or assets for personal use is fraud, and classifying this as a conflict of interest does not improve the analysis of this problem. Nor should unauthorized distribution of confidential information, in itself, be considered conflict of interest. For these improper acts, there is no inherent conflict of roles (see above), unless being a (fallible) human being rather than (say) a robot in a position of power or authority is considered to be a conflict.

Stink is stirring because someone is full of crap... Krystal said he signed a conflict of interest form when she said Kelsey was FILLING IN and we should not worry because he signed a conflict of interest form. That tells me that he is not suppose to hire family. So why is it ok for him to do it if he signed a legal document to the effect that he would not.

Peed-off

Why is everyone concerned whether Kelsey is going back to school or not? And why is everyone concerned over whether Kelsey continue's to hold down the secretary job for her dad or not? It's only one spot filled by a family member. It's not like he's filling every available spot with a relative. Let's see. We move from him not giving out information about the new business's coming into town, because the company asked him not to. Then to the fact that he couldn't get his salary dropped. Now we are beating him up because Kelsey is filling the secretary spot? Hmmm....what's next? Perhap's the last time you seen him, "that shirt didn't go with those pant's." I sure smell some stink stirring tonight. PEE-EWW!

Re: conflict and krystal
Re: conflict and krystal

Krystal should be able to tell us this as she was at the Mitchell/Bedford game on Friday night with Kelsy and Dan. She has the scoop I am sure. Share the news krystal

Does anyone remember the day Krystal was at city hall for the first day in office? She had said that Kelsy (Mayors daughter) was working for him for a couple weeks until she went to school. Krystal also said" dont worry folks the mayor has already signed a conflict of interest form" well I heard today that Kelsy is not going to school that she will be working for her dad. So does anyone know what the conflict of interest form was and if Krystal was trying to ease everyone's mind why now it is not a conflict of interest? Just curious as to what this is all about. I really wish positions would have to be posted for others to apply instead of just handing them out to family. Maybe Kelsy will not charge Mitchell a salary to make up for the $40,000.00 short fall.

Yes, I am Just Me on the TM website. Hello there! =) Well, I am married, but not to a councilman and I do own a business, but, it's not on Main Street. Which I guess also mean's my husband's name isn't Everett... I'm glad you enjoy my post's, or at least most of them. I do have day's where my intelligence is on vacation. =)Most day's though, I try to be upbeat, positive and friendly. Sometime's my love of life and people show's too much, perhap's. Almost to the point of being sappy. I enjoy making people smile and am loyal to the people that I care for, to the point of death. I would be willing to meet you, if we could get this figured out, to calm your curiosity. Alway's willing to go out on a limb for one of my biggest fan's. =)Be sure and bring your autograph book so I can sign it for you. Peace and Love ^^

I agreed with you and said that it should have been researched more. I'm sure we have all jumped to conclusion's on thing's, in my case, more then once, in our live's, without actually knowing the fact's. Everyone is human, in turn, we do make mistake's. Let's give him this one and go on. Dan deserve's a chance to make thing's better for us. It took many year's for this town to get into the shape it's in, it's gonna take more then 3 week's to fix it. Can we call a truce?? Let's work together on this one. =)

I merely stated, and if you will notice I am not the only one who is questioning our new mayor's actions, that it seems he makes decisions without really thinking. This is what I want so he does it and then finds out that he can't and has to do different. Think about it you can not run a town that way.It just seems a little chaotic to me.

No, don't bash anyone. New administration or old. Everyone has given everything within their capabilities to help the city. It just happen's to be, out with the old, in with the new. And in reading our post's, who conduct's themselves more like the child? I quit fighting on the playground a long time ago. Best to keep quiet and let everyone "think" you are a fool, then to speak up and let everyone "know" you are.

You have your thoughts and I have mine. What you think of me is does not matter. I am sure that if I praise the new mayor and bash the old then I would be fine. You can weed out the adults from the children.

Well, let's see. The Chief of Police thing, Geyer deciding last minute he didn't want the job, isn't considered the "cart before the horse", it was a done deal. Everything had been worked thru, Geyer just didn't bother telling the admin's about his possible job in Florida. The Safety Director thing was also, not a "cart before the horse", it was thought thru, but was decided upon later to drop it, Jim's where he need's to be right now. And as far as me not liking other people's opinion's....everyone is entitled to their own, I do not have a problem with that. And as for you, it's not your opinion's I have a problem with, it's YOU! I read post's on here all the time, but it seem's that your post's are usually comprised of nothing but negativity. Either for other's posting on here or city employee's, admin's, whoever you feel like bashing today. I believe it's you that has a problem with other's opinion's....especially if our opinion's are positive one's. Life is what you make it, it can be positive or negative. Peace and Love

First off let me say this who would ever think that someone would make a law making you get paid a certain amount I sure wouldn't and I can't understand why it is that way either seeming as until Butch got elected Mayor Hancock's salary was only around 19,000 of course that doesn't add in all the other money he got from the city for various reasons. The Geyer situation wasn't really his fault Geyer made a choice and that was that. As for Safety Director I have no clue in all honesty we are kind of small for that and he probably doesn't know much when it comes to the fire side of things but only time well tell.

Dan knew this was an issue months ago, he should have researched it in depth before running or at least before promising to drop part of his salary. I dont really care, I would still much rather have him than Butch.

Well let's see.. Cheif Of Police,Safety Director,Geyer... I am not being neg. Just the truth. As far as my attitude giving Mitchell resident's a bad name... Your giving me way to much credit. Why is it that as long everyone seems to agree with YOU and your opinion that your fine but let someone voice how they feel and you get all Peed-Off... LOL Free country we are entitled to our own feelings Right Or Wrong.

What's the other thing's he has done, supposedly, putting the cart before the horse, kinda thing's? Sound's like your just trying to peck the man to death before he even get's a chance to warm up the mayor's seat. It's your negative attitude that give's the rest of us Mitchell resident's a bad name.

Peed-off

It was just recently that he received the last, "IT CAN'T BE DONE". He wanted to make sure he had done everything he could before finally accepting the fact. That's why it just hit the paper today.

Isn't that his job...to investigate things fully before he opens his mouth and makes promises about them? I think there were several people that had questions about Dan saying this and we were all dismissed. I also wonder with this "new open government" why we are all just now hearing about it when Dan found out a month and a half ago???

Concerned

I would say that the law prevents a lot of people from doing what ever they want..LOL That's what law's are for. I'm just saying seem's he's made a lot of call's without thinking. I thought we wanted a Mayor who would get things done not just say " Well I tried but the law wouldn't let me" But it was the thought that counted. GiVE ME A FREAKIN BREAK.LMAO

It sounds like he new this before he was sworn in. Why didn't he tell the citizens before now that he would have to accept the 47,000 dollars in salary. The Times mail stated that he hadn't recevied any money from the city. I am no lawyer but he has still earned the money and he will have to be paid for it. Why wouldn't George James go ahead and pay him what he has earned. No matter how this ends up, he will still have to be paid.

Peed-off
Peed-off

Ok, so maybe thing's should have been researched. He didn't back out on his word, a law is preventing him from doing what he want's to do. He has been in contact with everyone and their brother to try to find a way around this law, but they all say the same thing. IT CAN'T BE DONE! Anyone every heard, it's the thought that count's? And as far as donating 40,000 back to the city. I'm sure he would do that in a second if he was able to receive his railroad pay at the same time. But, we all know that without his railroad pay coming in, 7,000 isn't enough for anyone to live on. Peace and Love

I wonder how the salary of the mayor will affect the Director of Safety Job. It might not matter that much if we don't hire a chief of police in 6 months. Maybe Steve Burton can do that job too. haha. I am only kidding, I really approve of Steve in his position. I just could resist the laugh.

He should have checked this all out before even running for office.

Well it is his own fault. He knew this could be a problem way before he was elected. Sounds to me like our new mayor does alot of putting the cart before the horse with a lot of things.

This isn't a good thing for new mayor to deal with. It sounds like it went from making 67,000 a year to 47,000 a year real quick like. Not only has he lost 20,000 a year but he can't save the city 40,000 a year like he promised. I guess he could return 40,000 as a donation to the city.

Check out the Times Mail. There is an article about the new company and another about our new Mayor and his salary.
