I received the following message over a month ago. It kinda makes sense now:

Date: Dec 13, 2007 10:48PM
Subject: u need 2 investigate. . . .

Danny told [REMOVED] that he is not going to be mayor because he makes to much money from his retirement from the railroad. 20,000 more a year than he is supposed 2. How the hell was Hancock Mayor when he owned half the city?? The city voted him in. . . but I guess you have to be poor to be mayor. Get the word out? Will ya? [REMOVED] Danny has promised jobs and already hired people. This is bad.

[REMOVED]

All of the “[REMOVED]” stuff is either a) not relevant and would only serve to help identify the sender and/or b) personal in nature (it was from a good friend of mine).

I didn’t post it at the time because it didn’t really make sense (and I didn’t bother inquiring further). I suppose I should have.

Yes, Jerry did sell out to Buck and two other people. It is owned by the three of them. Jeff is the one running the show however not Buck. FYI!

I think when Jerry was in office the business was in Buck's name only.

Didn't Buck just purchase Hancock construction from Jerry about a year and a half ago? I had a lot of dealing with Hancock Construction and I think having Buck run the business was the best thing that could have happened to it.

Hancock didnt own half the city, I believe the construction company was either in his sons name, Jerry jr.--"Buck" or his brothers name and the feed store was in Bucks name.

I am sure there is probably some loophole that will allow Terrell to donate most of his Mayor salary and keep his big time money with the railroad. If not, looks like he got owned on this. I would rather sit on my ass for $60,000 than get dragged through the mud by media/citizens of Mitchell to make nearly 15k less a year!
