Dr. Alva SibbittDr. Alva L. Sibbitt, Jr., will be heading to Crawford Circuit Court in English on July 28th at 9 a.m. for an initial hearing in the criminal case against him.

Sibbitt is the former superintendent of Paoli Community Schools who was arrested last December during a traffic stop in which he allegedly rammed into an Indiana State Police patrol car.

Sibbitt was scheduled to begin working for Mitchell Community Schools as superintendent on January 1st. He was suspended with pay after the arrest, however. In April, the school board voted to cancel his contract.

He filed a civil lawsuit in Orange Circuit Court in May alleging that the school board did not have sufficient evidence to cancel his three-and-a-half year contract which would have earned him a salary of $105,000 per year.
