The Greene County Sheriff’s Department and Indiana State Police are currently investigating the death of a Caucasian female who was found in a wooded area south of County Road 760 East and County Road 740 North, which is located near Newark Baptist Church.
The body was discovered around 3:00 p.m. Saturday. A positive identification has not been made, but investigating officers believe the victim is in her late 20’s or early 30’s.
Foul play is suspected and the investigation is continuing.
No arrests have been made.

UPDATE: Unconfirmed reports indicate that the woman is Stacey Lawson.
UPDATE: We received the following information:
“Her name was Stacy. She was last seen yesterday evening, and her boyfriend was looking for her last night … Her mother’s last name was Pate, but I am not sure of hers.”
