To help ensure the safety of everyone during the Labor Day weekend, Indiana State Police will be participating in Operation C.A.R.E. (Combined Accident Reduction Effort) from September 2nd through September 5th. Operation Pull Over has been in full swing since August 19th and will continue through September 5th. Additional troopers will be patrolling area roadways specifically looking for motorists who are drinking and driving, speeding, following too closely and driving aggressively. Troopers will also enforce all seat belt and child restraint violations.

Indiana State Police encourage all motorists to observe the following safety tips:

  • Make sure you’re well rested before travelling.
  • Make sure everyone is properly buckled up.
  • Don’t tailgate and remember the two-second rule when following other vehicles.
  • Obey all traffic signals and speed limits.
  • Don’t drink and drive.
  • When you see an emergency vehicle’s lights flashing, MOVE OVER and SLOW DOWN.

Indiana State Police would like everyone to remember that driving comes with important responsibilities to yourself, to your passengers and to other drivers.
