Former Youth Pastor Arrested on Sex Charge

Darrel Coffman, Youth Pastor, charged with sexual misconduct

Indiana State Police detectives from the Putnamville post arrested a former youth pastor on Thursday, charging him with sexual misconduct with a minor.

30-year-old Darrel Coffman, DOB 07/28/1981, was arrested on the Class B felony charge and taken to the Vigo County Jail where he is being held on a $35,000 bond.

According to police, an investigation into the charges began September 12th, after the Indiana Department of Child Services in Vigo County notified detectives.

Coffman was reportedly a youth paster at the Promised Land Apostolic Church in West Terre Haute. Coffman is alleged to have performed sexual acts on a 15-year-old boy in his car and home between February 1st and June 4th. The boy attended the church.
