October 21, 2011

10:34 a.m. Woman called regarding an abandoned bicycle leaning against a tree in the 1100 block of Orchard Street.

10:48 a.m. Female caller reported a small dead animal behind Building 2 at Persimmon Park Apartments that needed to be picked up.

11:15 a.m. Man called to report that a political sign on Teke Burton Drive belonging to Mayor Dan Terrell had been defaced.

11:51 a.m. Verbal warning issued for an equipment violation at 7th and Main Streets.

12:12 p.m. Lawrence County reported they had an ambulance en route to the 1000 block of West Warren Street for a subject laying on the ground, possibly dead. CPR was administered and the person was revived.

12:14 p.m. Man on station regarding a gun permit.

1:41 p.m. Female caller requested to speak with an officer.

1:44 p.m. A male subject was arrested at the Car Wash on West Main Street, however the Police Department’s log did not identify the person, in violation of State Law. A complaint will be filed with Chief Jerry Presnell regarding recent violations. Further violations will likely result in civil lawsuits.

2:10 p.m. A man in the 400 block of Oak Street requested information.

3:00 p.m. A female reported that her neighbors had the alley blocked, however the log did not indicate the location.

3:46 p.m. A woman in the 1200 block of Warren Street requested an ambulance for her 87-year-old husband who was having severe abdominal pain.

7:54 p.m. A man reported his neighbor told him that a juvenile was in his home in the 200 block of East Grissom Avenue. He requested a no trespass order.

7:55 p.m. A woman in the 300 block of West Warren Street reported that two juveniles are chasing her daughter. She requested an officer at her location.

8:24 p.m. A man in the 400 block of East Frank Street requested an officer because a neighbor told him there were juveniles at that location.

8:28 p.m. Male caller reported a controlled fire in the 800 block of Second Street.

8:30 p.m. A man reported seeing a lot of smoke near Doc Hamilton Boulevard and Rabbitsville Road. MPD checked the location and believed the smoke was coming from Lehigh.

10:15 p.m. A man in the 400 block of North 8th Street called with information on his juvenile son.

10:44 p.m. Dakota Sosh, seat belt violation.

11:20 p.m. Man in the 200 block of West Warren Street called regarding his neighbor’s dog that had been barking for a long period of time. MPD spoke with the owner who said he would put the animal up.

October 22, 2011

12:10 a.m. 911 call from a woman in the 100 block of Moffitt Road who reported a suspicious vehicle stopping in front of her residence then leaving. She reported the vehicle had done this numerous times. The vehicle was described as a loud, older model, full-size, single cab pickup truck, red with silver trim on the bottom.

12:13 a.m. Woman called back to report that the vehicle just stopped in front of her home again, this time turning their lights off, waiting for a bit, then leaving.

12:30 a.m. MPD located the vehicle from the last two calls at Angel’s Court and spoke with the man.

12:47 a.m. MPD officer en route to Yockey Road to assist Lawrence County officers. One female was taken by MPD to the police station and later released. She was not identified in the log.

7:00 a.m. Man requested an officer at Northside Village. The Coroner was later notified and arrived at the location. It is believed that a

9:45 a.m. Female requested information on “lemon laws”.

9:52 a.m. Man in the 400 block of Brook Street requested to speak with an officer.

10:25 a.m. Female caller from the 400 block of Vine Street reporting information.

10:53 a.m. Orange County notified MPD of a green Toyota on Highway 37 north from Orleans driving erratically. MPD notified Lawrence County as well.

11:38 a.m. Female caller reported a woman in a pink dress, black jacket, and flip flops near the 200 block of Frank Street “dancing and raising her arms and singing in the middle of the road”. MPD spoke with the woman who reported that she was getting her exercise and is going to sit at the park adjacent to the Police Department.

12:10 p.m. A woman called, crying, stating “she will never dance again”.

12:27 p.m. Woman in the 400 block of 12th Street reported a black pit bull at that location wearing a green jacket.

12:47 p.m. Female in the 400 block of Vine Street reported that her boyfriend was trying to get into her home and she didn’t want him there. The man left with his belonging after police arrived.

12:49 p.m. Man on station requesting to speak with an officer.

1:56 p.m. Woman from St. Vincent’s reporting that a man who came in by ambulance is refusing treatment. Lawrence County was notified.

2:07 p.m. Woman requested an officer to the 300 block of John R. Williams Avenue regarding a speeding vehicle.

3:07 p.m. Man and woman on station for release of father’s belongings. They were told to come back when the Police Chief was there.

3:46 p.m. Bedford Police Department reported that they are looking for a missing 83-year-old man with dementia, wearing a white shirt and blue jeans. He was last seen around of 24th/25th Streets and Mitchell Road.

4:50 p.m. Male caller reported a theft at Mitchell Manor.

4:50 p.m. Man requested an officer to the 100 block of Main Street because he vehicle was hit.

5:43 p.m. Woman on station reporting that her dog got loose. It had on a green coat with a bone pattern on it. She found the dog but it wasn’t wearing its coat.

5:44 p.m. Female caller requested an officer to the 1400 block of Grissom Avenue for lockout. She was told she would have to call a locksmith since the location was outside of city limits.

5:48 p.m. Man reported harassment on Highway 37 between Hancock Avenue and Doc Hamilton Boulevard.

6:03 p.m. Woman on station to report a dog that was “skin and bones” in the 500 block of Grissom Avenue.

6:04 p.m. Man reported theft on his credit card and the product was being delivered to a Mitchell address. MPD contacted the company but their customer service was closed.

6:31 p.m. Woman in the 1400 block of Lawrenceport Main reported a domestic situation. Lawrence County was notified.

7:00 p.m. Man requested to speak with an officer regarding items being taken from him.

8:35 p.m. Female caller from the 100 block of Kelly Street requested an officer regarding a fight.

10:05 p.m. 911 hangup call from the Clark Station at Main Street and Highway 37. When MPD called back, the employee reported several teenagers harassing him and they left when he called 911 so he hung up.

10:59 p.m. Manager of Elm Park I requested an officer to speak with residents at an apartment who were having a party and disturbing others.

11:48 p.m. Female caller in the 500 block of North 7th Street reporting a suspicious blue/green van at a residence near her where no one lives. A few moments later, a male caller who lives next door to the same house reported the same problem. The owner of the home later came on station to file a no trespass order.

11:53 p.m. Anonymous female caller reported possible drunk drivers leaving a residence at Elm Park I in a grey Ford Explorer.

2:11 a.m. Man from Lakeside Estates called with information regarding a suicide investigation.

2:20 a.m. The railroad crossing arms at North 5th Street and West Oak Street were malfunctioning. A technician was en route.

3:12 a.m. A woman at Marathon requested an officer for a lockout.
