A Mitchell man was arrested Saturday night after causing a disturbance inside a Mitchell bar.

At 9:29 p.m., the Mitchell Police Department received a 911 call reporting a fight at Jack’s that had spilled out into the streets. Backup was requested and officers from Mitchell, Orleans, and Lawrence County were on the scene.

According to information received by Mitchell News, 26-year-old Joseph Agan apparently went into Jack’s and immediately started causing problems. He allegedly struck two different women and then told some male subjects to “go outside” to fight.

It took several officers to place Agan in the police car. The county unit transporting him had to pull over because he was “being combative”.

He was taken to St. Vincent’s Dunn hospital and then to the Lawrence County Jail. The Mitchell Police Department log reports that he was arrested for disorderly conduct, public intoxication, and battery causing injury.

According to one person, Agan was also inside the bar a few days prior causing problems.
