Note: Because I’m about six days behind in posting the police logs, I’m simply going to summarize them and post the “most interesting” parts from each day. Statistics shows that when I post several days worth at once, the majority of people don’t read the old ones anyway, making it a waste of my time. Thanks.

12:17 a.m. Female caller requested an ambulance to the 400 block of Dale Street because her son had taken too many Xanax. The man left but was found at Doc Hamilton Boulevard and Rabbitsville Road. He refused treatment.

3:27 a.m. MPD officer out in the 100 block of Frank Street in reference to an investigation. One male and two females were taken to the police station where it was discovered that the male, Nickolai J. Dean, was wanted on a warrant. He was taken to jail by Lawrence County. The females were released.

9:05 a.m. Man requested an officer to 9th Street and Highway 60 because someone knocked the window out of his store and tried to get in.

10:53 p.m. Man in the 1200 block of West Warren Street requested extra patrol because of a possible breaking and entering the previous night.

11:47 p.m. Traffic stop on Highway 37 at Storage Express.

November 25, 2011

12:20 a.m. Lawrence County requested assistance with two intoxicated people at Gasoline Alley.

1:19 a.m. Extra patrol requested in the area of Pleasant View Drive because a man saw two people walking in between two houses.

1:31 a.m. Employee at the Clark Station requested a unit because someone turned the heating control unit up and he wanted someone to come and turn it down. He was told to contact a heating and cooling business.

1:49 a.m. Two car/deer accidents, one in the northbound lane and one in the southbound lane, on Highway 37 at Marathon.

12:47 p.m. Bedford Police Department notified MPD of a white 2002 Chevy S-10 extended cab truck with a black bed cover that was stolen the previous date from a residence on M Street in Bedford.

2:15 p.m. Two vehicle property damage accident at 2nd and Vine Streets.

6:26 p.m. Female caller in the 500 block of Frank Street reported that someone hit a small dog on her street. She didn’t think it was dead but wanted someone to check on it. She called back a few moments later to say the dog was yelping and sounded hurt. A city employee checked on the dog and found that it was the neighbor’s dog that was on his chain. There was no problem.

7:36 p.m. Man in the 1500 block of Hancock Avenue reported that his mailbox was destroyed while he was out of town.

8:03 p.m. Male caller in the 400 block of East Hancock Avenue requested an officer check outside his residence, specifically his garage area. He said he could see someone shining flashlights through his garage window and believed someone was inside the garage.

8:13 p.m. Female caller reported her son’s girlfriend was pregnant and alone at the caller’s home on John R. Williams Street and an unknown person opened the front door and quickly shut the door to leave when the dogs started barking.

9:07 p.m. Lawrence County advised to be on the lookout for a possibly drunk driver in a light blue full-size Dodge Van on Highway 37 southbound towards Mitchell, en route to Orleans.

9:21 p.m. Traffic stop on Highway 37 at the White River Co-op. One man, Larry D. Holloway of Orleans, was arrested for operating while intoxicated.

November 26, 2011

1:21 a.m. MPD responding with Lawrence County units to an active alarm at the VFW.

2:42 a.m. MPD officer reported he heard possible gunshots coming from the the area of Fleenor Road.

11:06 a.m. Traffic stop on Teke Burton Drive at the cemetery.

11:31 a.m. Female in the 1100 block of Marion Street reported that her daughter’s boyfriend kicked her out and won’t give her and her kids their belongings.

12:01 p.m. Female reported that her mailbox in the 1500 block of Hancock Avenue was vandalized/knocked down sometime overnight.

12:25 p.m. Male caller on 911 reporting that two juveniles are trying to set fire to a brush pile in the alley of the 400 block of Brook Street. MPD talked to the parents.

12:43 p.m. Male caller on 911 reported a domestic disturbance in the 300 block of West Warren Street. He said he female had a knife to her throat. An ambulance checked her out and took her to the hospital.

1:24 p.m. Man in the 600 block of 9th Street reported that his landlord was blocking the driveway and wouldn’t let him get his belongings.

2:23 p.m. Anonymous caller reporting a man shooting a gun. MPD spoke with the man in the 300 block of Bartlett Drive and advised him of the city’s ordinance.

3:03 p.m. Multiple calls about a fight about to occur at the City Park.

3:17 p.m. Female caller reported males in a red pickup truck swerving at people behind a factory off of East Frank Street. A fight broke out while she was on the phone.

3:39 p.m. Male on female on station reporting a fight on Main Street.

3:48 p.m. Female caller on 911 requested an ambulance to Jack’s in the 500 block of West Main Street for a man with a head injury. The man was taken by ambulance to St. Vincent’s Dunn and released at 6:05 p.m.

4:20 p.m. Male caller requested an officer to the 100 block of East Frank Street because of a domestic fight between a mother and daughter.

4:49 p.m. Dispatcher for IU Health requested First Responders to the 500 block of South 6th Street because of an 87-year-old female with C.O.P.D. who was having chest pains.

5:14 p.m. Lawrence County requested MPD be on the lookout for a blue 1988 Oldsmobile with paper tags occupied by two males and two females heading southbound on Highway 37.

5:33 p.m. Male caller requested to speak with an officer in regard to evicting someone from his rental property.

6:15 p.m. Lawrence County requested MPD be on the lookout for a cream 2004 Lincoln Town Car heading southbound on Highway 37 from Tieman Tire.

6:21 p.m. Female caller from McDonald’s reported a vehicle that went through the door and it looked like the man was pointing a gun at the female.

7:45 p.m. Female caller reporting a domestic disturbance between a man and a woman in the 300 block of West Warren Street.

8:25 p.m. Male caller reported six or seven juveniles going into an abandoned house in the 300 block of John R. Williams Street.

8:32 p.m. Female caller requested an officer to John R. Williams Street and East Grissom Avenue because of a fight.

11:09 p.m. Lawrence County requested MPD be on the lookout for a black Chevy Cobalt southbound on Rabbitsville Road, speeding.

11:18 p.m. Male caller on 911 requested an officer to the 300 block of Hancock Avenue because his girlfriend’s family was there trying to make her leave against her wishes. The family members were told the female was 18 and they could not make her leave.
