Bedford North Lawrence High School Principal David Beaver

Thursday afternoon, it was announced that Bedford North Lawrence High School Principal David Beaver was placed on administrative leave.

Dennis Turner, North Lawrence Superintendent, said, “I can tell you Mr. Beaver has been placed on administrative leave.” He added, “It is an internal personnel matter … This is only a North Lawrence matter. It does not involve any other agency or group.”

Since that time, rumors have surfaced alleging that Mr. Beaver was caught engaging in sexual activities with another employee — a security guard named “Rita” — in his office. That employee, sources say, was forced to retire.

Assistant Superintendent Gary Conner stated:

“We’re looking at our options internally to see what needs to be done. Dr. Turner and I are addressing it. Both of us have been involved with the situation, trying to seek some kind of solution that is best for all involved, the schools, the kids, the community and Mr. Beaver.”

The school board will hold an executive meeting at 5 p.m. on Monday to discuss individuals’ status as employees and other issues. Conners says he believes the situation with Beaver will be discussed in the open school board meeting on Thursday Feb. 23.

Once again, sounds like an old boys club. And BNL is falling victim to this homogeneous culture of the same, same, same.

I don't see any reason for the PUBLIC to continue to food the bill for this guy's paid vacation at $91,000 a year. If two people can do all three jobs, he never should have been hired. Just lay him off and give the other two the work they should have been doing any way. If they have time to do it now they sure never had enough work to justify their salary before.

Yeah, that's Tim. In Monroe county, he also was charged and convicted with harassment. I won't go into the details here, because the victim wasn't some large public company, but a total innocent who got in Tim's way.

I haven't heard anything about Tim. Didn't he get busted in High School for stealing from the coke machines? Guess he hasn't changed in all these years.

I was wondering if you were going to get around to covering the story of Tim Greene, son of Mitchell City Council Woman Linda Greene. He's currently sitting on house arrest for theft. He was originally charged in 2008. The courts finally got around to trying him nearly 4 years later (Lawrence county must have a pretty full docket to run four years behind on a simple felony D theft case). I'd think any reporter would find it a good story, because Tim was openly selling products he was stealing from Powertrain on ebay. He didn't even change the packaging. And he did this uncaught for over five years. But, for some reason (perhaps something else to check into), they only charged him for the theft of parts that GM security bought off him in a sting (maybe the story didn't make the local papers because GM didn't want anyone to know how lax (or should we say, non-existent) their security was). Consider that. They made one purchase and charged him with theft of parts valued over $10,000. His eBay account was full of the same type of parts being sold several times a year for about five years....how many hundreds of thousands did GM actually lose? Where did all that money go? (And one more question, if the Times-Mail is willing to write a story about any random meth arrest, why aren't they willing to do a story that involves the family of a local politician and the theft and sell of thousands of dollars worth of parts from a local factory?)
