Around 4 a.m. Friday morning, various police officers gathered at the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department in Bedford.  A few hours later, ten people had been arrested on warrants charging them with a multitude of drug-related crimes.

The arrests, made by a total of 26 officers from the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department, Bedford Police Department, and Mitchell Police Department, occurred between 4:30 and 7:30 a.m. According to Lawrence County Sheriff Sam Craig, all of the arrests occurred “without incident”.

Bedford Police Department Chief Dennis Parsley told the Times-Mail that the arrests were made as the result of investigations by the Lawrence County Drug Task Force. “The task force has been very good at utilizing all resources it has available,” said Parsley.

Those arrested were charged with crimes involving marijuana, alprazolam, hydrocodone, clonazepam, suboxone, methamphetamine, and heroin.

Arrested and charged in the early morning busts were:

  • Eric Hackney, 32, Mitchell: dealing a schedule I controlled substance and maintaining a common nuisance
  • Chad Taylor, 23, Mitchell:  dealing a schedule IV controlled substance and possession of a schedule IV controlled substance
  • Jennifer Hernandez, 31, Mitchell: dealing a schedule III controlled substance and possession of a schedule III controlled substance
  • Matthew Jeter, 30, Mitchell: dealing a schedule III controlled substance and possession of a schedule III controlled substance
  • Virginia England, 56, Bedford:  dealing a schedule IV controlled substance and maintaining a common nuisance
  • Chad Flynn, 30, Springville:  dealing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of marijuana
  • Robert Moffatt, 39, Bedford:  dealing a schedule II controlled substance, dealing a schedule IV controlled substance, and unlawful sale of a legend drug
  • Warren Wagnon, 37, Bedford: dealing a schedule III controlled substance and dealing marijuana
  • April Harrell, 38, Bedford:  dealing a schedule II controlled substance and possession of a schedule III controlled substance
  • Terry Holmes, 46, unknown:  dealing a schedule III controlled substance, dealing a schedule IV controlled substance, and maintaining a common nuisance
