Burn Ban Lifted in Lawrence County

Due to the tremendous amount of rain received in the area Thursday evening, the burn ban that was in place for Lawrence County has been lifted.

If more rainfall is not received soon, however, it will be reinstated.

“If someone is going to be burning a significant amount of debris they need to contact the Sheriff’s Department and alert us,” Craig says. “Anyone that has anything to burn needs to do it in the next couple of days, because the ban could be put back in place, so they need to take care of it now.”

The Sheriff’s Department can be reached at 812.275.3316.
