Susan Keenan, 51, of Bloomington, a senior lecturer of accounting at Indiana University‘s Kelley School of Business, committed suicide by jumping off the fourth floor of a parking garage in downtown Bloomington early Friday morning.

The Bloomington Police Department received a call at 6:57 a.m. Friday morning. Two witnesses saw Keenan jump from the parking garage and another person, in the courtyard of the Hilton Garden Inn, also witnessed her jump, according to Sgt. John Kovach of the Bloomington Police Department.

Keenan did not trip or fall, Kovach said. One of the witnesses told police that he saw the woman jump right after he stepped off an elevator in the garage.

She was initially taken by ambulance to IU Health Bloomington Hospital for “severe leg injuries”. Later, she was pronounced dead in Indianapolis, according to Marchele Hall, supervisor at the Marion County Coroner’s Office.
