A man already incarcerated on several child molesting charges is now facing several more.

In September, Jeff Gipson, 31, was charged after a 13-year-old girl confided to her mother that Gipson had tried to have sex with her the day before.

The victim reported that she has known Gipson since she was around eight years old and that he was “like a father to her”, according to the probable cause affidavit in that case. On April 26, 2012, the victim and a friend went to see Gipson and were going to stay there until 11:00 p.m. because her mother was at work. The girl stated that Gipson and another man left and returned with alcohol, after which they all began drinking “shots of liquor”.

Gipson told police that the girl went into the bedroom because she “was dizzy because she had just taken a shot of alcohol”. The victim’s friend told police that Gipson said that he was “going to go lay down with my baby girl”.

Gipson, according to the girl, “laid down with her and told her that he fell in love with her two years ago”. He told her that he “prayed to God for an angel” and he thought the girl was his angel which, the girl told police, “made her feel creepy”.

The girl says that Gipson then took her pants and panties off, performed oral sex on her, and tried to have sex with her. Gipson repeatedly told the girl that he loved her, according to investigators.

When police first spoke with Gipson, he stated that the girl would have “no reason to lie on him” but denied performing oral sex on the girl or attempting to have sexual intercourse with her. When officers spoke with Gipson later, he admitted to police that him and the girl went into the bedroom because the girl “was dizzy”. He stated that “he had three or four shots”, that the two were lying on the bed and, according to the probable cause affidavit, “eventually admitted that his penis touched her vagina”.

After a lengthy investigation, Gipson was charged on September 4, 2012, with three counts of child molesting, one count of attempted child molesting, and one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He was arrested a few days later.

At the time, sources told Mitchell News that additional child molesting charges against Gipson were forthcoming, although the Prosecutor’s Office would not comment on the case.

Now, Gipson, 31, still pending trial over the previous charges, finds himself facing three additional counts of child molesting.

In the new case, filed recently in Lawrence County Circuit Court, the same detective who investigated the previous case received a report from the Department of Child Services that another teenage girl reported to her grandfather “that she had sex with Jeff Gipson, age 31″.

In this case, the victim, another 13-year-old girl, reported that “starting in February 2012, she started talking and texting Jeff Gipson”. The girl said that she “was flirting with him” and “Gipson started flirting back and things got more intense”. The girl admitted that “she sent a picture of her vagina to Gipson and Gipson sent her a picture of his penis”.

One night in March 2012, the girl says that her and Gipson were alone when Gipson left to go get alcohol. Upon his return, the girl says that Gipson molested her while she was “on the couch pretending to be asleep”.

Later, Gipson “came back to the couch, laid down with her and performed oral sex on her three times and also had sex with her two or three times.”

Over an period of approximately two months, Gipson had sex with the girl “a total of nine times”, according to the probable cause affidavit.

When officers spoke with Gipson about the girl, he admitted to calling and texting her but stated that “none of the texts were sexual in nature”. He did state, however, that “[the girl] is a flirty girl and had tried to come on to him in the past”.

Gipson, incarcerated since September, now faces a total of six counts of child molesting, one count of attempted child molesting, and one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Each of the child molesting counts is a Class A felony, with a potential prison term of 20 to 50 years each.

Gipson remains in the Lawrence County Security Center on a $200,000 cash or surety bond.
